This was a fun read. I enjoyed the main character (and not just because we share a name) and her development.
There were elements of fantasy, politics, intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed the story but Johansen does not build the most coherent world. She lacks some consistency and there are significant gaps in the story… because this is a trilogy though I will continue reading the sequels to see if any of these questions are answered.
There was some violence, graphically described, but nothing gratuitous. I’m excited to see how this all plays out!
