Staff Review: A Man Called Ove

A Man Called OveA Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
Kate’s rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charming, gentle, hilarious, yet moving. The story of a curmudgeon doing his best to avoid his neighbors and failing utterly, interspersed with the history of the love of his life. Backman’s phrasing and dialogue are passage after passage of must-read-alouds, and the artistry is particularly impressive to me because the book was not originally written in English, so the translator did an amazing job to capture the writing. I positively adored this book!
