Happy Father’s Day to all you great dads!

Quote on being a dad“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.” – Mark Twain

This Sunday is Father’s Day! At the library we see lots of dads with their kids, and it’s always special to see a dad and his child reading together. So don’t skimp on the reading love – start young and repeat often; there’s so much to share together!

Knuffle bunnyTry books like Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems, and move on from there. You can read your way through the years, and have the perfect gift of shared memories that you won’t lose.

Bedtime Stories Are the Best
“Spend time reading stories together, whether you are in the same house or thousands of miles away. . . Reading a story is beneficial to their minds and your parent/child relationship; it’s a simple act that they will always remember and something they’ll probably give to their own  children.”  Bobbi Klein, at Lifehack

Enjoy your day, Dad, and keep the reading – and the love – flowing!
