Lafayette READS! might just be the reading group you’ve been looking for. We’re a new book discussion group under the umbrella of your Lafayette Public Library. Meetings are held quarterly, giving everyone ample time to enjoy each season’s selection. Lafayette READS! is committed to choosing an eclectic and exciting range of titles. Check out the Lafayette READS! web page for more information about the book schedule, reader’s guide and discussion questions, and more.

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar WaoOur next meeting will happen on Monday, March 20 at 6pm, where we’ll discuss The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Diaz. The New York Times called the fast-paced romp, “Mario Vargas Llosa meets ‘Star Trek’ meets David Foster Wallace meets Kanye West.” It’s funny, cool, sad and inspiring, narrated by one of the most original voices in recent fiction.

You’ll want to reserve your copy today, then join us in a couple of weeks for our Lafayette READS! discussion. In months to come, we’ll be diving into books by Richard Louv and Colson Whitehead, as well as your 2017 On the Same Page selection.
