There are so many great movies and books coming out in July and August that I’m really excited for! Here are some movies and books for kids that you should be on the lookout for.

Movie: Christopher Robin
Audience: Kids
Release Date:  Theaters, August 2018
Why I’m really excited for it:  Disney’s Winnie the Pooh is back! Christopher Robin has grown-up and Winnie the Pooh needs Christopher’s help finding his very lost friends in the Hundred Acre Woods!

Book: Willa of the Wood by Robert  Beatty
Audience: Kids (Ages 8-12)
Release Date:  July 2018
Why I’m really excited for it:  This book sounds like it has everything I love in a story! A mix of mystery, fantasy, adventure, and self discovery. I can’t wait to read this story when it comes out in July!

Book: Dork Diaries 13: Tales from a Not-So-Happy Birthday by Rachel Renée Russell
Audience: Kids (Ages 9-13)
Release Date:  August 2018
Why I’m really excited for it:  Have you read this series? Each book is often a hilarious coming-of-age story about friendships, family, and growing up.

Book: So Done by Paula Chase
Audience: Kids (Ages 8-12)
Release Date:  August 2018
Why I’m really excited for it:  This is Chase’s debut book and the publisher describes the book as a story about a “complex friendship between two very different African-American girls and the importance of speaking up.”
