Your Library Story: Library Time

The Lafayette Public Library has been central to our tutoring program for relocated refugee students for many years, to the point where one of the toddlers thought my name was “Library!”

Pre-pandemic, we would attend weekly with our group of students. What we call Library Time is a chance for so many things — reading, tutoring, homework help, building relationships, and deep conversations. I’m so grateful for the library staff for allowing our little crowd to tromp in every week and providing a safe place for us to pour into the lives of the kids in our community.

We have missed being able to go there for the past several months, and can’t wait until the day when we can have Library Time at the actual library again!
