Sarah G. recommends

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner’s Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart

I recently reread the Mysterious Benedict Society series, and I whole heartily recommend it. The Prisoner’s Dilemma is the third novel in the series and slightly differs from the other books because this book doesn’t include many locations, with the main events in a house and a prison. I love this book. It is a little slow in the beginning, but the whole time the reader has the sense that something is wrong. This is a longer read but great for a snowy day!

Chasing My Cureby Dr. David Fajgenbaum

This book follows Dr. Fajgenbaum as he attempts to find a treatment for a rare disease that he has. The book offers insight into medical research and Fajgenbaum’s romantic life. I love this book but, as a warning, it includes medical terms so you’ll have to be willing to look a few words up.

The Staircase” (Netflix docuseries)

I love a good true crime documentary, and this is one of my favorites. The documentary follows a man who is accused of murdering his wife. The show focuses on his trial mainly, and the question of “if he did it” is never explicitly answered. However, I still find this show an interesting insight into the justice system.

What is the TCC? TCC is a volunteer group of teens that love to read and discuss books, movies, and music. Every month they get together to pick books for our teen collection and write short book reviews. Want to join? Then apply today!
