Wrap Up 2018 With New Online Resources

It’s the end of another great year at the Library! In 2018, we added several new online resources that are FREE to use with your Library card.

The New York Times

Yes, it’s really true! Lafayette Library card holders now have free access to the New York Times online. Features include access to the daily edition, all online-only articles, Spanish and Chinese language editions of the Times, and articles from 1851-1923 and 1980-today. For more information, visit the Library’s New York Times webpage.

Lynda

Want to learn to play the guitar? Looking for new skills to add to your resume? The Library’s got you covered! Lafayette Library card holders now have access to Lynda.com, which offers over 6,000 courses delivered by expert instructors, covering topics like business, web design, multimedia skills, software programs and much more. Users can earn certificates that can be uploaded to LinkedIn. For information on how to get started, visit the Library’s Lynda web page.

RBdigital

RBdigital Magazines, formerly known as Zinio for Libraries, offers full-color, interactive digital magazines. Visit our eMagazines web page to get started.

Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection (CHNC)

Lafayette’s historic newspapers are now part of the CHNC! The Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection represents more than 250 individual newspaper titles published in Colorado primarily from 1859 to 1923. In 2018, the Library digitized various Lafayette newspapers from 1901 – 1907. In 2019, we will continue this project, extending our online newspaper collection into the 1920s. For more information, visit our Lafayette History web page.

Colorado Grants Guide

The Colorado Grants Guide allows you to search for grants using the most comprehensive database of funders that support Colorado-based community organizations.

Visit the Library’s Resources A-Z webpage to check out all of the online tools available to you, or find a resource by topic to explore.

The Library is always working to provide the best possible services to our community, so keep an eye out for even more new resources to come in 2019!
